About Science of Gifts

Dattaraj Pai is a writer and filmmaker who has been working in these fields for several years. He covers science–particularly psychology and human behavior, and movies. He has also worked as a cinematographer, video editor, graphic designer, copywriter and photographer.

Dattaraj attended engineering college but dropped out to pursue other interests that were more his style. He realized that he was better off learning skills and subject he is interested in by teaching himself through research, trial and error.

Science of Gifts is his personal project that is aimed at exploring and sharing the science behind gift-exchange and how it affects human behavior. It’s a topic that attracts and baffles social scientists, psychologists, anthropologists and economists alike. Substantial research has been done by experts in these fields. This website intends to bring all the findings together and make sense of all the scattered data; to connect the dots.
